In recent years, the term “tech-house” has taken on a whole new direction that has swayed some considerable distance from its origins. One of the early protagonists of this much-misunderstood sub-genre is Asad Rzvi aka Silverlining. His nineties deep, groovey garage tinged house is nothing short of seminal and appearing first on OG labels such as Wiggle and Wrong, Asad set a template for what would become such a huge sound of current times. For those that perhaps missed the boat with the first edition of tracks such as ‘Pleasure and Treasures’, ‘Spannerd In Dub’, ‘Pearl Divers’ or ‘Breezin’ Thru’ Asad has kindly updated these stunning releases by re-releasing them through his own Silverlining Dubs imprint to critical acclaim.

Since then he has massively returned to his original form with these releases and the advent of his Neotropiq imprint which unfurled with the re-release of the anthemic ’System Error’ from his and Nathan Coles Two Right Wrongans moniker. The unhumanly prolific artist is just as busy on the DJ circuit as he is at the dials in his studio. On any given weekend, you can catch Asad in action at only the finest raves and festivals so we are truly honoured to have such an influential artist grace our podcast series. Recorded at home using nothing more than a pair of 1210’s and a Mastersounds Radius 2 mixer, this mix is made to play loud.
