In 1995 J Majik released the seminal track ‘ Your Sound’ and the rest is history. Goldie was just about to start a new label called Metalheadz and wanted the track for one of the 1st releases and coined J ‘The Luke Skywalker of drum and bass” In 1993 J Majik founded Infrared Records, one of the genre’s most influential independent labels. Through Infrared, he released a series of early jungle classics and helped launch the careers of artists such as Sub Focus and The Prototypes. His early productions combined atmospheric depth with technical precision, establishing him as a standout talent during drum and bass’s formative years.
By the mid-1990s, J Majik was already performing internationally, becoming one of the first drum and bass artists to tour the United States.
