Biography
Alexander Nut has made a name for himself as one of the UK’s most respected Dj’s. Uninhibited by tempo or time zone, his expansive taste draws heavy on the influences of House, Soul, Broken Beat, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae and a variety of electronic dance music styles. Having honed his skills at London’s legendary Plastic People nightclub, Alex has played to some of the finest dance floors around the globe.
He’s also the man behind Eglo Records, home to some of the most exciting, forward thinking music coming out of the UK, responsible for seminal releases from Floating Points, Shy One, Chunky, Fatima, Steven Julien, K15, Byron The Aquarius, Steve Spacek and many more. The label recently celebrated its 15th anniversary! Alex Nut is also a veteran radio show host, serving the airwaves for over two decades, notably as one of Rinse FM’s standout Dj’s during it’s early pirate days, through to his more recent chapter over at NTS, cementing his position as one of the most important figures in underground British radio.
